Silent, rigorous, ironic man, Albini was one of the major protagonists in the development of rationalist thought in the field of architectural production, furniture, industrial design and museum exhibition. His is a refined and rarefied style, which was able to combine fantasy and craft, poetry and method. “You have to use the pencil like a sword,” he once said. He was a firm supporter of the social role of the architect as a profession at the service of the people. In this regard, his son Marco recalls: “The material, used sparingly, praised and purified progressively, in a challenge of sustainability, represented above all an ethical code and moral behavior; use fewer resources to be able to distribute more and therefore, ultimately, a socialist vision of the world ”.
