Gucci box

In fondo, invisibile con un’apertura a mezzo cassetto – e in effetti mai vista prima – scorsero una SCATOLA DI RADICA, anche lei chiusa, ma la chiavetta era lì accanto. Conteneva fotografie, pacchetti di fotografie nei piccoli formati che usavano prima della guerra. Il babbo e la mamma giovani, incredibilmente giovani, e a quel che si vedeva molto felici. Il più strano era il babbo, magrissimo, i capelli neri e lucidi pettinati all’indietro, i baffi neri, una palese – e riuscita – ricerca di somiglianza con Clark Gable. O con Laurence Oliver. Molto elegante, di un’esibita eleganza anni trenta.

Square box in briar wood and chromed metal. 1970s Italian production attributed to Tommaso Barbi. Made for “Gucci Boutique” which in Rome in those years was located in Via Borgognona and sold household items as well as small leather goods.
