Perret & Vibert, also known as the Bamboo House, was founded in Paris in 1879 by Alfred Perret. Primarily specialized in the production of bamboo furniture and luxury baskets, as well as the import of authentic Japanese objects for a wealthy Parisian clientele.
Located at 33 rue du Quatre-Septembre, the company specialized in the early 1880s in the production of carved wood furniture and lacquered furniture of Far Eastern inspiration. Perret & Vibert, true creators of their time, the “Maison des Bambous” enjoyed a reputation that went far beyond the borders of France. The world’s greatest personalities visited the store and decorated their homes with the creations of Perret and Vibert.
