Born in Lima (Peru) in 1931 and moving to Italy at a young age, Tito Agnoli trained as an architect in Milan before embarking on a prolific and refined career as a designer. His work led him to collaborate with historic brands such as Bonacina, Oluce, Poltrona Frau, and Arflex, creating lamps, seating, and furnishings that have become part of the history of Italian design.
Agnoli always knew how to combine design rigor with craftsmanship, experimenting with natural materials such as rattan and bamboo. In the 1960s and 1970s, he designed for Bonacina light and modern woven seating, capable of transforming a traditional material into an icon of contemporary living.
His sensitivity earned him recognition and allowed him to leave a mark on the international scene, while maintaining a personal discretion that set him apart from other colleagues more widely known to the general public.
Today, Tito Agnoli’s pieces are sought after by collectors precisely for their ability to merge modernism with artisanal tradition.
